Why the mace?
The weight sits away from your hands. That changes the challenge and asks you to coordinate grip, shoulders, trunk and hips while controlling the mace around the body.
Learn grip, hand position, safe handling and how the long lever changes what you feel.
Build the prerequisite positions and drills that make circular mace training understandable instead of intimidating.
You do not need twenty movements. Learn a small number well enough to keep practising them.
The goal
Learn the path of the mace around the head, how the hands and elbows organise the movement and how to control the return to the front.
Build on the 360 and learn the side-to-side rhythm of the 10-to-2 with control, timing and appropriate loading.
